Redlands, CA
Few bands have left a mark on heavy music quite like Sleeping Giant. Formed in Redlands, California in 2006, the band emerged from the Southern California hardcore scene with a mission that was as uncompromising as their sound—pairing crushing metalcore with an unapologetic message of hope, conviction, and faith. Their combination of devastating breakdowns, anthemic choruses, and passionate lyricism quickly established them as one of the defining voices of Christian hardcore.
Beginning with Dread Champions of the Last Days and Sons of Thunder on Facedown Records, Sleeping Giant built a devoted international following through relentless touring and unforgettable live performances. Albums like Kingdom Days in an Evil Age and Finished People expanded both their musical scope and their influence, cementing the band’s reputation as one of heavy music’s most impactful acts.
After returning home to Facedown Records for their farewell release, I Am, Sleeping Giant closed a remarkable chapter that had spanned more than a decade. Rather than simply ending a band, I Am served as a celebration of the community, friendships, and message that defined their journey.
Known for their fierce intensity on stage and genuine connection with fans, Sleeping Giant’s legacy extends far beyond records and tours. Their music has inspired countless listeners to stand firm in their convictions, pursue hope in difficult circumstances, and find strength through perseverance. As one of the cornerstone bands of the Facedown Records family, Sleeping Giant helped shape an entire generation of hardcore while proving that heaviness and heartfelt purpose can coexist without compromise.
They reunited on June 19, 2026 at the Glasshouse in Pomona, CA. after an eight year break and are planning for more to come.
