For the 10th anniversary of Your Memorial’s “Atonement” album, the band worked with Ryan Leitru to remix the “Hope Era” single. The reworked song is available everywhere you listen to music. Read the band’s thoughts behind the remix below.
In January of 2020, the four of us jumped on a call to discuss the idea of how to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of our first Facedown Records release, “Atonement.” We planned for a hometown show to play the entire record and reunite with old friends, but due to safety concern we had to cancel. Another idea was to rerelease music from the record. Given how 2020 has unfolded, we thought “Hope Era” would be a timely song to share again.
None of us expected this year to go down the way it has. Despite the disease, despair, and division amongst us, we believe there is meaning in our trials and failures. They prove our need for a savior that gives eternal and abiding hope. This hope is not in ourselves but in the person and work of Jesus Christ who died for the sins of the world. He is the light of the world and whoever follows him will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. This hope is and always will be here for you.
We’re grateful for Jason and the Facedown Records family for signing us and supporting us through the years. Huge thanks to our good friend Ryan Leitru for bringing new life to the mix and arrangement.
