WRENCH IN THE WORKS POST NEW SONG FROM “DECREASE / INCREASE”
February 3, 2010

WITW Wrench in the Works just released a song from their upcoming album “Decrease/Increase”.  The song, called “Project AK-47” is about child soldiers and was inspired by the organization of the same name.  Here the band explains why this project means so much to them:

“This past Cornerstone Festival we learned about the ministry Project AK-47 and what they are all about.  It really just hit close to home for us as a band and we felt a Godly calling to support them and bring awareness to people – even to the point of us writing a song called “Project AK-47″ on our new record which is inspired by the ministry.  Basically the calling they have is to save child soldiers in southeast Asia (over 300,000 kids) who have been kidnapped, orphaned or deceitfully recruited to serve as soldiers in government armies or drug cartels; for $7 you can help save a child through them.  Just think about what you were doing at age 7 or your little brother or sister or nephew or niece and then think about yourself or them training with a machine gun.  It makes my stomach turn to think about what these kids go through and the fear they must face everyday.”

The new album “Decrease/Increase” releases March 16.  Says Andy Nelson of WITW’s latest effort:  “The record was meticulously written and recorded with a vision to blow away our last record technically, musically, and lyrically.  We honed in on the strengths of the band and weeded out the weaknesses and we are pumped about the end result.”
