2014 is an exciting year for Facedown releases! We started off strong with Saving Grace “The Urgency” which reached number 11 on the iTunes metal chart and we’re looking forward to what the rest of the year has in store. We’ll be seeing releases from War of Ages, Gideon, Those Who Fear, Colossus, and newcomers Mouth of the South. For weekly updates follow Facedown Records on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Extol have released a digital Deluxe Edition of their self titled 2013 album. The new edition contains “Sting of Death”, an exclusive new track, as well as new digital booklet containing never-before-seen artwork.
In addition to the release of Extol Deluxe Edition and accompanying lyric video for “Sting of Death”, there has also been an update from Animidas Productions on the release of the Extol documentary film.
We´ve had our hands extremely full with post production and we´re now very close to a finished film!
Thanks to many of you, this project has become a journey we dared not hope for 3 years ago. We have just signed the first (of hopefully many) broadcasting deals for television and we have started submitting the film to film festivals all over the globe.
A DVD release is scheduled for the end of 2014, but we´ll make it worth the wait! The TV/festival version is 70 minutes long. The DVD will be a much longer extended version, and will contain epic bonus material from the band on a second disc!
Thank you so much for your patience and support. We´ll keep you posted on where and when the film is screened.
Extol have also recently announced that they will be playing some live shows for the first time in seven years:
It is now 20 years since Extol played the very first concert – in Sandvika, Norway May 17th 1994 to be precise. We want to celebrate this anniversary with some very few exclusive live shows later on this year!
The last concert Extol did was in 2006, so it´s been a while. We are really looking forward to getting on a stage again, playing both new and old songs, and of course meeting our fans and friends! Waiting more than 7 years is just way too long!

Facedown Records is proud to welcome Mouth of the South to the Family!
For six years Texas’ Mouth of the South has been blazing trails with their fiery metalcore riffs and tenacious southern attitude. Though the band has evolved almost entirely from the original lineup and sound in 2007, the fervor is still there as is evidenced by their three self-released albums and well-established touring schedule.
The band’s most recent release “Transparency” (2013), which debuted at #10 on the iTunes metal chart, put MOTS on the map as a groove-filled metalcore up-and-comer. The band has also become known for their relatable song writing and empathetic lyricism. As one reviewer notes, “Mouth of the South bleed their music”.
Now MOTS add their talent to the Facedown Family, joining with the label to release their new album, heading out on tour with War of Ages and Saving Grace and ending up at Night Two of Facedown Fest on March 29.
The band states “We are beyond excited to announce that we have joined forces with the Facedown Records Family! We are really looking forward to the future of the band as we team up with the label. As a band, we’ve been going at this for a long time and feel like this is the best move for us. We will be buckling down over the next few months to write and record a new album that we will be releasing sometime this summer. Our first tour as a Facedown band will be early this spring with War of Ages and Saving Grace. We can’t wait to get out on the road more and more to meet new people and make new friends. Keep checking in for more updates from us and Facedown Records. Thanks for your support.”
Mouth of the South is offering an exclusive download of their brand new song “Idle Hands”, a sneak peak into the new album they’ll be recording for Facedown in April.

War of Ages vocalist Leroy Hamp says the band is anxious to get on the road. “This March WOA headliner marks our first FULL US tour of 2014. We are very excited to share the stage with New Zealand’s Saving Grace and Facedown Records’ new blood Mouth of The South! BRING YOUR BATTLE AXE!”
Saving Grace guitarist Vasely Sapunov says they are excited to be touring state-side again this summer. “We are super stoked to be coming back to the United States to support what is by far our heaviest and best record yet. This will be our fourth time in North America and our third time at Facedown Fest, when we flew out in 2013 to do the final touring cycle for ‘The King is Coming’ it was every evident that we had gained a whole lot more fans and friends in the US, so it’s an honor to be able to come back and to continue to build on that, especially alongside War of Ages, a Facedown band with such a great legacy and awesome history! We can’t wait for everyone to hear ‘The Urgency’ live. Let’s rage!”
